Portrait Session: Marina

Marina is such a colorful person - I don't think I've ever seen her unhappy. I loved having the opportunity to take portraits of her. We were in downtown Xenia for this shoot, and I had a lot of fun getting creative with some of the shots I took of her. It was a blast and I'd love being able to work with her again. Here are some of the results from that day:

Portrait Session: Hayley

Hayley was one of the first people in my dorm that I asked to take pictures of, and one of the last that was actually scheduled in. A busy semester was hard to schedule anything around but we finally got to do a portrait session at the Greene. It was a lot of fun, and Hayley is absolutely stunning. All in all, it was a success. Well worth the wait.

Engagement: Madison and Sean

Madison and Sean are very much in love. You can tell by the way they talk about each other when the other isn't around. They both have a heart for God, and their charisma and enthusiasm for life and love is contagious. I did their engagement portraits on a beautiful fall day at Indian Mound. Here are some of the best shots from the session:

I loved all of the genuine reactions I was able to capture in these shots. Madison has such a spark of a personality, and Sean definitely knows how to bring it out.

At one point I just asked them to interact how they wanted to, and they started dancing. In the midst of it he dipped her. The first time I wasn't ready for it, so I had him do it again.

This is one of my favorite shots from the session. There's so much passion there.

A nice softer moment between them.

Always have to get a close up ring shot for any engagement session. Congratulations Madison and Sean!

Portrait Session: Cassie

Cassie is absolutely adorable, and a lovable girl full of personality and life. Her passion for people definitely shows when you're with her, and she's always so intent on anything you're saying. We went to downtown Xenia because I knew I could pull off some artsy shots with her, and that her personality definitely needed to have a reflection of a place that was dynamic and fun. Here are the images from her portrait session:

That windowsill was filthy! When I ran a finger across it, I told her that I changed my mind about the idea because I didn't want her to get dirty. And what does she do? She hops right up and says, "Eh, it's no big deal." What a trooper!

I loved these balcony shots - I would've done more with angles here if there hadn't been such a busy background of shopping centers and parking lots. It wasn't exactly picturesque, but I managed to hide it all behind the banister.

This was one of my favorite concepts from the session - I shot them through the metal design on the stairwell to frame Cassie in an interesting way.

Cassie proved to be quite the model during this session. I prompted on most of the positions, but she was very comfortable with them and pulled them off better than I could've pictured in my head.

One of my favorites of the shoot. It shows her lovable side and her warmth.

Roommate Session: Kaitlyn and Faith

These are shots I did for Kaitlyn and Faith - they're roommates and wanted to get some "roomie shots" together. We went to Indian Mound and Yellowsprings, and had an absolute blast!

Senior Portraits: Amy

Amy is a friend of mine from college. She wanted senior portraits done. Amy is very outdoorsy and loves a good time and a good laugh. She has a very giving spirit and gets along with just about anyone. We went to John Bryan park because I knew all her best looks would be best complimented by a splash of nature in the background.

There were a few times I had to bring up inside jokes to get her laughing, but it wasn't hard for me to get good pictures of her either way.

She has such a great genuine smile!

I enjoy this one because it shows her love of nature and laid-back personality.

Another favorite. This looks like something you'd see at a studio in my opinion, so I definitely love that I was able to do it in a natural setting.

Here's one to complete the set. I love the way all the colors work in this shot!

Senior Portraits: Melissa

Melissa needed senior portraits done for her senior year in college, and I was more than happy to oblige. We went to John Bryan park for these shots. It was a lot of fun! Here's the turnout:

Portrait Session: Sarah

Sarah is a friend from college. She did something incredibly generous for someone else on my behalf, and I wanted to return the favor by doing a portrait session for her. We went to Indian Mound and Yellowsprings for these shots.

Portrait Session: Rachael and Matthew

Rachael and Matthew contacted me through my FB page to do a portrait session of the two of them for fun. They have a long distance relationship so whenever they're together they LOVE getting pictures together, so it was a perfect opportunity for them!

This is one of my favorites of the two of them.
We had fun experimenting with reflections in puddles we found down the road.

So sweet!

The falls made for a perfect background for the two of them. I really love what it adds to this shot!

...this one too!
