Portrait Session: Cassie

Cassie is absolutely adorable, and a lovable girl full of personality and life. Her passion for people definitely shows when you're with her, and she's always so intent on anything you're saying. We went to downtown Xenia because I knew I could pull off some artsy shots with her, and that her personality definitely needed to have a reflection of a place that was dynamic and fun. Here are the images from her portrait session:

That windowsill was filthy! When I ran a finger across it, I told her that I changed my mind about the idea because I didn't want her to get dirty. And what does she do? She hops right up and says, "Eh, it's no big deal." What a trooper!

I loved these balcony shots - I would've done more with angles here if there hadn't been such a busy background of shopping centers and parking lots. It wasn't exactly picturesque, but I managed to hide it all behind the banister.

This was one of my favorite concepts from the session - I shot them through the metal design on the stairwell to frame Cassie in an interesting way.

Cassie proved to be quite the model during this session. I prompted on most of the positions, but she was very comfortable with them and pulled them off better than I could've pictured in my head.

One of my favorites of the shoot. It shows her lovable side and her warmth.

Roommate Session: Kaitlyn and Faith

These are shots I did for Kaitlyn and Faith - they're roommates and wanted to get some "roomie shots" together. We went to Indian Mound and Yellowsprings, and had an absolute blast!

Senior Portraits: Amy

Amy is a friend of mine from college. She wanted senior portraits done. Amy is very outdoorsy and loves a good time and a good laugh. She has a very giving spirit and gets along with just about anyone. We went to John Bryan park because I knew all her best looks would be best complimented by a splash of nature in the background.

There were a few times I had to bring up inside jokes to get her laughing, but it wasn't hard for me to get good pictures of her either way.

She has such a great genuine smile!

I enjoy this one because it shows her love of nature and laid-back personality.

Another favorite. This looks like something you'd see at a studio in my opinion, so I definitely love that I was able to do it in a natural setting.

Here's one to complete the set. I love the way all the colors work in this shot!

Senior Portraits: Melissa

Melissa needed senior portraits done for her senior year in college, and I was more than happy to oblige. We went to John Bryan park for these shots. It was a lot of fun! Here's the turnout:

Portrait Session: Sarah

Sarah is a friend from college. She did something incredibly generous for someone else on my behalf, and I wanted to return the favor by doing a portrait session for her. We went to Indian Mound and Yellowsprings for these shots.

Portrait Session: Rachael and Matthew

Rachael and Matthew contacted me through my FB page to do a portrait session of the two of them for fun. They have a long distance relationship so whenever they're together they LOVE getting pictures together, so it was a perfect opportunity for them!

This is one of my favorites of the two of them.
We had fun experimenting with reflections in puddles we found down the road.

So sweet!

The falls made for a perfect background for the two of them. I really love what it adds to this shot!

...this one too!

Portrait Session: Julia

Julia told me initially that she hated pictures being taken of her. When her boyfriend saw the offer I was making for girls in my hall, he begged Julia to take it and get a portrait session with me. Here is the turnout!
After about 5 seconds I think she got used to the sound of the shutter of my camera, being as I was taking so many photos. And who wouldn't? :-)

I loved the fence behind her - there were wild flowers everywhere and the purples ones really accentuated her outfit.

Rule of thirds anyone?

This one was definitely my favorite shot of the day.

I love her eyes in this picture - so stunning!

Portrait Session: Jon

Jon is a good acquaintance of mine that I met doing an audio project (an audio story) last year in which he was my lead role. I asked him to do a shoot with me and after a lot of rescheduling, we finally worked in a day to do it!

His striped shirt worked out really well in the settings I chose to take pictures of him.

More play on the lines.

This photo is my absolute favorite from the day - his eyes look amazing, and the pose works really well with the framing of the shot.

He's such a fun guy - I had to show off how classic he is.

I really liked working his shirt into this background. It made for a nice theme to the shoot all together.

Portrait Session: Tricia

Patricia (or "Tricia" as everyone calls her) is a girl in my hall that was up for a portrait session one day. It was a lot of fun, and the area was really fun to work with!

The blue in her eyes is so striking - I loved the color she chose as a top!

One of my personal favorites! The pose just looks so natural.

Here's one that I enjoyed setting up - she had to crouch low to avoid a hideous air conditioner above the frame of this photo to be in the actual photograph. She may have been a little uncomfortable, but it was worth the turnout!

More potential discomfort, but another great shot!

I feel like this pose sums up the shoot: comfortable but classy. :-)

Portrait Session: Lauryn

I took out my R.A. the other day to do senior portraits for her and the turnout was fantastic! It was so difficult for me to narrow down my choices for her to choose from!

This is one of my favorite pictures from the day - I caught her laughing and it also captured the great spirit of her personality.

More of a serious pose. I love the depth-of-field in this shot.

Another favorite - I was so happy that those branches were sturdy enough to sit on!

Lauryn has an amazing, infectious smile.

One more serious shot - I thought she looked more classy and cute here.
